This ongoing locum tenens opportunity offers a variety of scheduling options, starting as soon as possible (ASAP).
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care to a diverse adult patient population with a variety of heart rhythm conditions, including arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, and heart failure.
- Conduct thorough patient history and physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests (ECG, Holter monitor, echocardiogram), and develop effective treatment plans.
- Perform minimally invasive electrophysiology procedures (EP studies, ablations) to diagnose and treat arrhythmias, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with referring physicians, cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Round on inpatients regularly, monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Document medical records accurately and efficiently within the Cerner and Athena electronic medical record systems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cardiac electrophysiology and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted North Carolina (NC) medical license is mandatory.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine with a fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology is preferred, but applications from physicians eligible for board certification in Internal Medicine will be considered.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical cardiac electrophysiology setting is preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in cardiac electrophysiology.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a high-pressure environment.

Two Coverage Options:
- Local Candidate: If you are a local physician, we offer a flexible scheduling option with 3-4 weeks of coverage, guaranteeing 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Non-Local Candidate: We welcome applications from qualified candidates outside the immediate area. This initial coverage will focus on outpatient duties for 2 weeks, with a full 40-hour workweek.

- This locum tenens opportunity offers scheduled clinical hours only, with no call requirements.
- The ideal candidate will possess a clean medical history that qualifies them for temporary hospital privileges.
